The Ninety-Nines national organization was founded in 1929 by 99 licensed women pilots for the mutual support and advancement of aviation.

The
Palms to Pines Air Race starts at the Santa Monica Airport on August
11th, 2006 at 0900 hours. Racers fly to Merced Airport for a timed fly-by
and may stop for a hosted lunch or continue to Red Bluff Airport where the
racers will stay overnight. The race continues Saturday morning departing
Red Bluff and flying to Bend, Oregon. A banquet dinner will be held Saturday
evening. This air race is open to all women pilots. Membership in the Ninety-Nines
is not required. The objective of the race is to have fun while promoting
